Controller

Jorge Alfredo Manuel Hernández (Manuel Jamher), based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, is the controller of the personal data collected on this site, under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP).

What data is collected and why

Only the data each feature needs is requested, and only when you send it:

When Data Purpose
You write through the contact form Name, email and message To read and answer your message.
You subscribe to new post notices Email and language To confirm your subscription and let you know when there’s a new post.
You leave a comment Name, email and comment To confirm the email is yours, moderate and publish the comment. Your name and comment are published; your email is never published.

In addition, to protect the forms against abuse:

  • An encrypted identifier of your IP address (not the IP itself) is stored to limit the number of attempts.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile checks that whoever sends a form is a person; to do so it analyzes technical data from your browser.

This data is not used for any other purpose, and it is not sold or used for advertising.

Analytics and cookies

The site counts visits with Matomo, installed on the site’s own server: no cookies, with the IP address anonymized and honoring your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting. Detailed visit logs are deleted after 180 days.

The site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. It only stores in your browser the light or dark theme you choose, which is not personal data.

Who it is shared with

Your data is not transferred to third parties. To work, the site relies on these providers, which process data only on behalf of the controller:

  • HostGator: hosting for the site, the database and email.
  • Cloudflare: bot verification on the forms (Turnstile).

How long it is kept

Data Period
Contact messages 12 months.
Confirmed subscriptions As long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe they are deleted, not just flagged.
Unconfirmed subscriptions and comments 6 months.
Published comments While they remain published, or until you ask for them to be deleted.
IP identifiers for the attempt limit 6 months.

Your rights (ARCO)

You can access your data, rectify it, cancel it or object to its use, and withdraw your consent, by writing to contacto@manueljamher.com with:

  1. Your name and the email you used to send your data.
  2. Which right you want to exercise and over which data.
  3. Anything that helps locate it (for example, the date of the message or comment).

You will receive an answer within 20 business days at most and, if applicable, it will take effect within the following 15 business days.

To stop receiving notices you don’t need to write: every email includes an unsubscribe link.
